SLN Construction was started by Steve Newton in 2008. He is the owner and sole proprietor. The company is based in Bennington, Vermont, but serves Southern Vermont as well as neighboring New York, and Massachusetts. The company does general construction and carpentry work as well as excavating and light landscaping. We do anything from repairing steps to a custom-built shed in the backyard to complete start-to-finish home construction.  

  ABOUT THE OWNER:
Steve Newton has been working construction for many years.  His grandfather built houses and taught Steve the trade from a young age.  He has been building things since he was old enough to use a hammer. Steve learned his excavation skills from the U.S. Army as a member of the Vermont National Guard.  Through them he has built roads, ball fields, and much more. Steve worked for a large Vermont construction company as a carpenter, but enjoys working for himself much more. He gets great satisfaction out of completing a project and making sure his customers have 100% satisfaction with the work.  He also enjoys spending time at his house with his wife Rachel and his pets.  While Steve is doing the construction work, his wife Rachel does the accounting and bookkeeping, to keep the business running smoothly so that Steve can concentrate on his customer’s needs.
